The first one

The first birthday of the year belongs to Kenzie. With it brings us another teenager...the third one in our house. Yikes! I think she had a pretty good day although her main birthday gift, a horseback riding trip, had to be deferred until her knee is feeling better. Happy Birthday, sweetie...hope the year brings you many wonderful things.

MRI results

The good news on the MRI is that it showed that Kenzie's stress fracture has healed. The bad news is that she is still having a significant amount of pain. The dr is somewhat perplexed and is sending us to get another opinion as his thinking now is lyme disease or growing pains. Hmm, not sure I'm going with either one of those. Based on symptoms and location, my sister thinks it's a meniscus tear which the dr did mention but he doesn't believe because of her age. Not exactly sure what age has to do with it. She's heavy into sports so I think it would be just as possible for her to get that type of injury as anyone else. She an appt tomorrow afternoon, assuming we can get there thru the snow, so hopefully this dr will have a better idea as to what might be wrong.

Another MRI

Kenzie had her 3rd mri today in as many months. Here's hoping that this one shows some improvement when we talk to her dr on Monday, otherwise it will mean a bone stimulator machine and more months of recovery. She's getting a little ansy with being on crutches for this long.

Bekah had a nice speech class until the very end when she was coming back to meet me. Apparently, the water fountain in the hallway jumped out and attacked her on the head. Her teacher assured me that they would stay far away from the attacking water fountain next week. ;)

Work was well, work. Not much to say there.

Ty had karate class tonight. He got to do real sparring tonight which was fun to watch. I'm thinking it's going to take a bit for him to get is next stripe...it's going to take some getting used to for him to actually face another person. So far they've just really been using pads to do all their moves against. It's different when there is another person across from you and you are expected to remember your punches and kicks and you determine which ones to throw instead of an instructor telling you what to do. Oh and remembering to keep your guard up while moving around the mat. Yeah, will take some time...but he loves it!

Busy Day

Usually Mondays are our worst day regarding shuttling kids around to different activites but tonight turned out to be worse. There was a mission team meeting at school tonight which meant after working all day, I had to run home, take Ty to karate class, then run down to school for the meeting (after stopping to pick up paper cups so the kids actually had something to drink out of this meeting), then leave that meeting early so that Connor could get to his piano lesson on time. I think I finally walked back in the door about 9pm after heading out at 6am. Long day. Then I tried to work on my review due today but knowing that my boss won't be there tomorrow isn't motivating me much to get it done...let alone the fact that I'm tired. I'm thinking it can wait til tomorrow. ;)

First Day

It's only been one day back to work and already I've had my first massive headache. That sure didn't take long and I'm not quite sure why I am surprised that I got one...it's not like all the problems would have gone away over the holidays. Guess I was trying to be optimistic there and think that someone else might have actually handled them instead of leaving me to do everything...but alas, it didn't happen. :(

It was nice to get Bekah and Taylor back into their dance class tonight. I know they have both missed it during the holidays.

Lazy Sunday

which is exactly how I wanted it. Had a nice relaxing day prior to heading back into the craziness of the office tomorrow. Went to church, got hair cuts for Connor and myself, did some laundry, played a rousing game of wii pictionary...who knew the kids could be so cut-throat. It was fun and some of the pictures were pretty hilarious. And now it's time to think about heading to bed since morning will come pretty early. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

2011

Myspace Graphics

I hope everyone has an awesome year!

Ours could have started out a little better. Both Kenzie and Alex are sick with some kind of bug. Hope it doesn't last long or go through the entire household. I spent the day trying to straighten up the house. We did a bit of rearranging over the holidays and are now trying to clean up the clutter that seems to come out of that task. I plan on doing absolutely nothing tomorrow! :) And then it will be back to work after almost two weeks off. Back to school for the kids...none of whom are looking forward to it. Weather has been nice although I was seriously disappointed with the last forecasted snowfall. A real bummer to have it snow all day long and have nothing to really show for it. Ah well, maybe next time. ;)
