Catch of the Day

It's hard to see but there is a cow nosed ray in all that water. Alex is the proud catcher of this ray and I was the proud recipient of a phone call at work from Kenzie to tell me all about it. They certainly did have a blast fishing today.

After dinner, we went back to river to fish some more but not much was out there other than some baby...and I mean baby...white perch. Tay caught the majority of them. He must have had a golden worm because just about every time he threw his rod in, out came a fish. It just tickled him to no end that he was able to catch that many fish. Ahh, the simple pleasures in life.

The Mountain has been Conquered

All the baby clothes are washed, folded and put away in their proper places and the room has returned to normal. Now that doesn't mean that the hallway is back to normal as that's where all the empty boxes that were in the baby's room went to. LOL

We went to 7pm Saturday night mass this weekend and it doesn't seem to matter which mass we go to, Alex and Connor always seem to end up serving. I don't understand why parents can't get their children to mass and on time if they are scheduled to serve or if there is a conflict why they can't find someone to take their place. Last night, one of the original servers did eventually show up...late...which is a pet peeve of mine. Ugh! Evening masses are not the best ones to take Bekah to as she is too wound up so it was a quite noisy mass. :) We did have a lovely lady come up to afterwards and say what a wonderful family we have. Almost asked her if she was sure she had the right family. LOL

Today after getting things straightened out in the baby's room, we spent some time in the pool which was most refreshing. The kids love playing in the water and don't come out until they are pruney. Afterwards I was able to get some stitching done on the Christmas ornament I'm working on. I'm missing two colors to finish it off so I'm going to have to put it aside until I'm able to get them. Think I'll work a little on Mother's Bliss next...haven't worked on her in awhile.

Time for another work week to start. I hope it's an uneventful one.

A Mountain of Laundry

That's what I've been climbing... and climbing... and climbing today. Who would have thought that one small child that isn't even here yet could have enough laundry to keep me busy for an entire day. I swear the clothes must have multiplied in the attic. I've almost made it to the top, though...just one more load to wash and dry and two to fold. Then I'll just need to figure out where to put it all. That's tomorrow job...along with getting all the boxes back up into the attic so the baby's room can be back in order. Then I can start thinking about how to decorate it. :)

The Joys of Cooking Over an Open Fire

I came home from work today to the smell of a fire burning. When I walked out on our deck and peered over, there were all the kiddos, along with my hubby, huddled around our fire pit getting ready to roast hot dogs on sticks. That quickly progressed to roasting marshmallows...which I have to tell you that stale marshmallows do not roast properly. You definitely need to have fluffly marshmallows for roasting. Luckily they were able to find a bag of fresh ones so that kept them entertained for awhile. Then it was time for a dip in the pool. What more could you ask for?

I'm hoping to get caught up on some sleep this weekend. I haven't been sleep very well...been having terrible dreams the last few days about death...not sure why. I also haven't been feeling very well...my back has been hurting, been crampy and just not feeling "normal". I'm hoping that this is related to my sleep issues and will resolve themselves once I'm able to get a decent amount of sleep which for me is something longer than 5 hrs or maybe it's just not having to wake up at 5am to go to work.

We have no plans for the weekend so it should be quiet. I hope to get the baby's room straightened out...need to go through all the boxes that got drug out of the attic, wash the clothes and put them away. Then the room will be back to some semblance of order. After that the only thing left to do in there will be to move the crib over but we'll wait until closer to the due date before kicking Bekah out. Oh, and I need to find some decorations for the wall although I might just leave my Noah's Ark items on the one wall. I love Noah's Ark!! I also hope to get some stitching done this weekend. Haven't done any at all this week...just been too tired and haven't been in the mood this week. Hopefully that will change soon.

27wks

Had my 27wk appt today and all is well. Munchkin is growing just like she should be. I was pleasantly surprised at my weight gain. I thought for sure that I was going to have gained 10 lbs this month but turns out I only gained 5.5 lbs. Guess my home scale weighs heavier than the drs scale. Will have to keep that in mind for future weighings. :) Have to go back in two weeks to have the glucose test done. Yuk! That has to be my least favorite part of being pregnant.

Tonight was carnival night. Took all the kids and usually they are really looking forward to going but tonight they started off kind of grumpy. By the end they were fine, though, and didn't want to leave. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed all the rides they rode with the of one ride that Tay was on. He absolutely hated it but I guess the only way to find out if you like something is to try it. Kenzie was the only one who didn't get to ride because of her broken collarbone so she played games all night. She was happy that she won a couple of things.

I was able to get some stitching done last night...finished up the last few stitches on my mini rr before it's due to go out. It's a seasonal month design and currently looks like the pic shown here. It's stitched on 32ct Merino Belfast linen. Now I just need to get the paperwork together for it so that it's ready to go in the mail this weekend. I also stitched a little on a Christmas ornament.

The Proud Fisherman

The kids spent alot of time fishing in the river over the weekend. Taylor had the honor of catching the most unique fish of the day. He also held the award for catching the first fish and catching the most fish. He was quite proud of himself. =)

Ever feel like a dog chasing it's tail around? That's the way I felt at work today. Started out doing one thing, then got pulled somewhere else, then got pulled somewhere else again. Eventually made it back to what I had started doing in the morning only to be pulled back through the cycle of events again. Ugh! I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a calmer day.

I hope to get some stitching time in tonight. Need to finish up my mini rr which just needs to have a few stitches put into it of a color that I didn't have. Picked that up the other day, so I'm all set now.

Change is in the air?

DH has decided that he is tired of the craziness that we call our lifes and that it's time to make some changes. What he would love to do is pack up and move to a self sufficient farm out in the middle of no where. He's even gone so far as to get some books so he can read up on how to do this. I have to agree with him that our life is way too crazy and we are way too stressed because of all the running around we do but I'm not convinced yet that this is the solution to the problem. DH and I had been talking over dinner on Saturday about the situation and come Sunday at church wouldn't you know it but our priest said the EXACT same thing that we had been talking about. It was like he'd been sitting in the room with us. So, obviously, He is trying to get our attention. Now just to figure out what direction He is leading in. Up and moving isn't a realistic option as we need my income but DH is confident that at some point in the future my work will offer a telecommuting option (which they are totally unfriendly towards now) and that will be our sign that it's time to move. We'll see...

On a different note...the drs appt for Kenzie went much better today but I'm a little upset that her collar bone has shifted and is now no longer in a straight line, hence the big knot that I've been noticing over the past few days. The xray does show that new bone is forming so that's a good sign. But no soccer for her until the end of August which is totally bumming her out since her travel team starts practicing next week.

Going to a Concert...or not

It seems that our plans for the evening have changed and we won't be going to the outdoor concert after all. They've moved the concert inside which now means they'll be charging, it'll be more crowded and not anywhere near the same amount of fun so we are just going to wait until next month to go. But that means that I can sit back and relax this evening. My back is hurting me after doing some work today on cleaning out the baby's room some. I was trying to clean off some old dressers and they were a mess and my back doesn't do well with sitting on the floor right now. But at least they are clean. :)

Haven't done much today other than hem some pants. Finally got tired of my maternity pants being too short so I took the hems out and rehemmed them. What a pain that was.

I forgot to mention yesterday what a terrible drs appt Kenzie had. Well, I can't even really say it was a terrible appt because she didn't even get in to see the dr. DH took her and after sitting an hour in the waiting room he finally decided to leave. They kept telling him that she was the next one to be seen but after 40 minutes of being told this, he was sick of it. He had to get back to get the other kids from VBS so he couldn't have waited any longer. Then they gave him grief about rescheduling with a closer office...apparantley the dr she was seeing only works out of one office which is not the one close to us. We got this dr because she was the one working on call at the closer office the weekend we took Kenzie in. I finally had to call...was put on hold for awhile...then was asked for a number so I could be called. Finally got a call back in the afternoon with them giving us an appt for Monday afternoon with a different dr at the office close to us. Just pray that when DH takes her on Monday that he doesn't encounter another hour wait.

Stitchingwise - I didn't get any done last night but I do plan to work on my ornament tonight.

Another Week Gone

Yay! It's Friday. Had a pretty good day at work although I was really tired in the afternoon...might have had something to do with all the Chinese food that I ate when my coworkers and I went out to lunch. What a fun time that was! We really should do it more often. I worked on the umpteenth revised to a report for my boss. That wasn't going well at all but I'll get through it.

Tomorrow evening we are going to go the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels for a Family Concert. We'll take a blanket, pack a picnic basket and listen to music by the water. Should be fun!

I'm going to try and work some on the Christmas Ornament that I'm currently stitching on. Not sure if I'll be awake enough once the kiddos get to bed though so we'll see.
