Rain

I hate days that start off rainy. Tends to set the mood for the entire day. And I especially hate rainy days when I have to drive into the office. Especially after getting no sleep. Poor Keari is really struggling with this bug she has.

I got home from work just in time to leave again to take Connor to his eye appt...darn traffic. Thankfully hubby offered to take him which left me free to grab a bit to eat and then give the little ones a bath. Keari climbed into bed and promptly fell asleep and hasn't been up since. Maybe she'll wake up in the morning feeling better. Connor's been having trouble with his contacts lately which was the reason for the exam today but it was determined that it was most likely the solution he's been using. Apparently the company has changed their formula in the last couple of months and there have been numerous complaints from people as a result. Let's hope the new solution works better for him.

Kenzie had softball practice tonight in preparation for a scrimmage on Sunday. Her knee is still really hurting her so the coaches aren't quite sure where to play her since she can't really run yet.

Eye Appts

Nothing exciting with the appts today. Tay needed new glasses, my change was minimal so could have gotten away without and update but I haven't gotten new glasses in probably 5 yrs so figured it was time. Ty had a slight change but since he absolutely refuses to wear his glasses, I wasn't about to get him a new pair.

On the way home, we stopped so I could get my hair cut. Then I worked more hours than I had planned but what else is new there.

I can tell that Keari still isn't feel well because she wasn't her normal cheerful self when I got home. Usually she is bouncing up and down when she sees me and yells at the top of her lungs "YOU'RE HOME"! I got nothing when I got home...no bouncing, no yelling. Nothing. Poor thing.

Tyler had his sparring karate class tonight. Afterwards I couldn't get him to come home. Some of the kids went to an instructors meeting, but everyone else could stay and practice if they wanted...so he wanted. Which was fine with me. He practiced his new green stripe techniques, practiced some of his rolls of which his worst one is the forward roll, go figure. He got one of the instructors to help with his self defense. Interesting to see Ty get out of a headlock, full nelson and bear hug from a guy that is much bigger than him. He did have some trouble with the full shoulder pin on the floor so he'll have to work on that one.

Still Sick

Keari is still feeling poorly today. I should have know just how poorly when she turned down the offer of a couple of M&M's. Or course, right after I offered them, she proceeded to get sick so guess she knew something that I didn't. ;)

Today was calm compared to yesterday. Only had to worry about getting Connor to piano practice tonight. I usually spend the hour reading but tried to finish getting some work organized. That seems to be a never ending cycle which is about to do it's monthly repeat come Monday. I think I got everything organized, notes written up, just need to get them typed up and sent out tomorrow.

Hubby calmed me as I was on my way home to tell me a story about our youngest. They were putting stuff away and Andy found a sticker and stuck it on Adam's forehead. Adam pulled it off and it stuck to one of hands and he wanted Andy to get it off. So Andy pretended to take it off Adams hand, then showed Adam that his (Andy's) hands were empty, at which point Adam realized it was still stuck to his hand. Adam then grabbed the sticker with his opposite hand, and you guessed it, it got stuck there. Andy repeated the process of pretending to take the sticker, etc. After Adam transferring the sticker back and forth between his hands a few times, he finally got tired of the "game" and stuck the sticker back on his forehead. He was quite satisfied that the sticker was no longer stuck to hands. Not sure he realized that he was right back to where he started. LOL

Ty, Tay and I have eye appts in the morning. That's always a fun time. ;) Ty, the crazy person that he is absolutely the eye puff pressure test. He's the only child I know that actually likes to have air blown into his eye. Like I said...crazy! :)

I told him Saturday after his belt exam, that I wanted to started practicing with him each night but so far we haven't been able to do it. Last night my shoulder hurt too much and tonight I got back too late from Connor's practice. Tomorrow is a new day, though.

Not much else happening. Think I'll sign off and read for a bit before heading to bed. At least I know I don't have to worry about getting up early for work tomorrow. Of course, one of the kids is always up early so there is rarely ever any sleeping in late in this house.

Stomach Bug

Poor Keari was up last night with some kind of stomach bug. She seems to be doing better today although she is still complaining about her tummy hurting her. She also complaining about her knees hurting her. Can't see how those two things are related but I have no idea what could be causing her knees to hurt. I'm getting vision of last summer and so don't want to go there.

My neck/shoulder hurts so badly at the moment that I can't turn my head to the left without getting a stab of pain. This made for an interesting drive home today. Do you know how often you have to look to the left while driving?? Way more than you probably realize.

Mondays are our crazy running around nights with with two dance classes and a karate class overlapping within a 2 1/2 hr period. Hubby offered to do all the running tonight without even knowing I was in pain. How awesome is that?

On the work front, I think I might actually be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have literally been buried in work since November, with January being the worst, and worked more overtime than I care to think about. This month went much smoother and are actually done for the month. To give you a sense of how bad things were, I didn't finish last months work until mid March. I hope to never have a month like that again.

Fields

It was a weekend filled with running up and down the sidelines of soccer fields...for Connor and McKenzie. They ref'd a total of 17 games between them. Yesterday was really windy as a cold front was moving in and today started with a little snow flurries but, all in all, it was a pretty nice weekend to be on the soccer field. I think Kenzie is finally over her bronchitis, although her ears are still giving her some trouble. She's on new meds for that so hopefully they will be doing better shortly. Adam has some kind of bug and is definitely not being his normal perky self. I don't think he's eaten a real meal all weekend. And most of the kids have a cough although I think most are related to allergies since it's being accompanied by runny eyes. Ty got a new belt yesterday. He's up to Green Stripe...almost halfway there. Hard to believe he's only been doing this for 9 months. He loved watching the test for someone getting his red belt...love the 4 corners test and can't wait til he's able to do it. Secretly I just think he wants an excuse to be able to throw people around. 3rd qtr is done at school. Hard to believe the boys only have one more quarter to go before school is out. And Alex will be even sooner since he graduates the end of May. Connor has an excellent chance of making Principal's Honor Roll this quarter. He just missed it last quarter and has been working really hard to keep his English grade up and of all things Human Geography. I've been quite sluggish this weekend. I wonder if it has something to do with the weather going from gorgeous spring weather back down to the dead of winter. Okay, maybe it's not quite that nad but close enough. ;)

Bronchitis and Two Fevers...

After I've been buried alive for weeks on end due to work, I surface to find that my oldest daughter has bronchitis. The same day she gets seen by the dr for that, her younger sister and youngest brother both start running fevers that same night. Bekah was actually a good sick person...she basically just rolled over and went back to sleep after I checked her. Adam, on the other hand, was a different story. He started babbling about midnight and didn't stop until about 4am. At one point his temp was 102.5 so I think he was babbling out of delirium, poor boy. ;) Both are doing fine today although Adam's temp is starting to climb again so not sure what the night will bring. Not sure I can handle another sleepless night, especially with having to go to work in the morning.
