Changes

Today did not turn out how it was supposed to.  Kenzie and I were scheduled to go to Laurel for a softball tournament.  Even though she can't play, she wants to be there to support her team.  Alex/Connor had a baseball game in Easton.  Unfortunately the rain yesterday and overnight changed those plans.  No softball or baseball today.  Sooo, we got to clean the house instead.  ;)  And this kids actually did it without grumbling...a rare occasion around here.  We got everything, other than laundry...a never ending task around here, done pretty early so they have the whole rest of the weekend to play.  I plan on doing some reading and family tree work.

Tomorrow we'll spend some time on at the softball field.  Games have been scheduled to start first thing in the morning.  Then we'll have an early birthday celebration for Connor.  :)

Rain

I hate days that start off rainy. Tends to set the mood for the entire day. And I especially hate rainy days when I have to drive into the office. Especially after getting no sleep. Poor Keari is really struggling with this bug she has.

I got home from work just in time to leave again to take Connor to his eye appt...darn traffic. Thankfully hubby offered to take him which left me free to grab a bit to eat and then give the little ones a bath. Keari climbed into bed and promptly fell asleep and hasn't been up since. Maybe she'll wake up in the morning feeling better. Connor's been having trouble with his contacts lately which was the reason for the exam today but it was determined that it was most likely the solution he's been using. Apparently the company has changed their formula in the last couple of months and there have been numerous complaints from people as a result. Let's hope the new solution works better for him.

Kenzie had softball practice tonight in preparation for a scrimmage on Sunday. Her knee is still really hurting her so the coaches aren't quite sure where to play her since she can't really run yet.

Crazy Week

Whew, finally time to take a breath. This has definitely been a crazy week. After getting back from the beach last week, I spent Monday and Tuesday in full day training at work, then Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday driving back and forth to Virginia to watch Kenzie play in a softball tournament and Friday I did a full day of work and then watched Tyler test for his orange belt. The drive to the games in Virginia ordinarily wouldn't have been that bad except we were having to do it in rush hour traffic...both ways. Ugh! Andy did the drive on Friday and the 1 1/2hr trip took him 3 hrs. No fun. During the first game of the tournament, we ended up in a rain delay for a couple of hours. It started raining during the first inning and by the second inning it was pouring. People were scurrying everywhere to get the equipment bags and such off the ground and under cover. I would have loved to have gotten a picture of what our canopy looked like...all the bags, chairs, people that were underneath it but my bag was buried underneath the pile. The rain finally slacked off some so we made a break for the car. Kenzie and I jumped in only to have me jump back out again. The reason for me vacating the car so quickly was because I'd looked down to see a yellow jacket walking down my shorts onto my leg. Thankfully it didn't sting me. We went back to the hotel, grabbed a quick bite to eat and an hour or so later were back at the field to resume the game. Amazing enough, the fields weren't in bad shape...which was totally surprising given that there were rivers running down them during the downpour. The girls ended up losing that game and Kenzie got hurt on the last out of the game. The first baseman really whacked her as Kenzie ran by trying to get on first. She was hit so hard she ended up flying over first base without ever touching it. Thankfully she wasn't seriously hurt but she did end up with a hurt wrist which kept her out of their second game until one of her teammates popped her shoulder out while batting. Kenzie ended up going in to replace her. Nothing like a hurt player replacing a hurt player. LOL She did great...ended up getting on base and then did a great job on first base which is a tough spot to be playing with a hurt wrist, which happened to be her glove hand. They ended the day Thursday with 1 win and 1 loss.

Andy went to the game Friday, which they won. Yay! He left after that game so he could make it home in time to watch Tyler test for his next belt. You'd think leaving at 2:30 for an hour and a half drive would give you plenty of time to make it home for a 6:30 exam. Ha! It took him over 3 hrs to get home but thankfully he did make it home in time to see the exam. It was our first time watching a belt exam...it was very cool! Ty ended up getting his new belt. Way to go!!

I went back to Virginia on Saturday...the girls needed to win 4 games in a row to make it to Sunday to have a chance to play in the championship game. They ended up winning their first game but lost their second. The girls had a good season, won 41 games overall which is a huge improvement over last year. They now get the month of August off and then it will be back to practicing starting in Septemer.

Busy Day

Whew, nothing like running around all day. I know Andy is going to say that he had the roughest day because he had to be out of the house by 7am to get Kenzie to her softball tournament...she had 4 games today...but at least once he got to the field, he was there to stay for the day. I, on the other hand, spent the day running back and forth to the fields to get Taylor and Alex to their soccer games, running to the shopping plaza to meet Connor's coach so he could get a ride to his soccer game, then running the boys back and forth to church to serve tonight. Talk about totally disrupting Adam's eating/sleeping schedule, not to mention Keari's naptime. And I still need to get the girls to bed without disrupting Adam too much since Andy won't be home til late.

So far, Tay and Alex's teams lost their games today, Connor's team won and Kenzie's team tied their first game and won their next two. Haven't heard about the last one yet.

Well, they won their last game so the got their first 1st place trophy of the new season. Way to go Riviera Beach girls!

Hot, Hot, Hot

It is only the beginning of June, right? The temps the last 3 days have been incredibly hot for this time of year...95 degrees with a heat index over 100. Was a good weekend to stay inside in the air conditioning. Unfortunately, that was not be the case on Saturday. The day started off with Andy and Kenzie leaving to go to Laurel for a tournament that was to last all day. They ended up playing 6 games...well 5 and the start of a 6th which ended up getting called due to a nasty storm that came through. Kenzie's team was ahead 1 - 0 so they ended up as Champions. Yay Lightning!

My day started with having to get Connor to a Wade-In where he was volunteering. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication on where the Wade-In was being held but I managed to finally get him there, albeit a tad later than we'd said. This is an annual event that is held at the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center. The objective of the wade in is to see how far you can walk into the water before you can't see your shoes anymore and then to measure the depth. The hope is that each year you can walk in a little further which would mean that the bay is getting cleaner. Connor ended up being the kid from his youth group that showed up to volunteer which was disappointing but they were very thankful that he came.

The twins had a baseball game at 3 and boy was it hot and there wasn't a hint of a breeze. It took over 1 1/2 hrs to play 2 innings at which point the other coach asked his team if they wanted to play another inning or quit then (games have a 2 hr time limit) and I was very thankful that they all voted to stop them. Of course, the twins coach wasn't happy about the decision...he wanted to keep playing...but I could have cared less at that point. Everyone else wanted to go home. Taylor got to pitch in the first inning for the first time and he did a great job...got two strike outs, walked a couple, and had a few hit off of him. Tyler ended up making the third out of the inning which I thought was pretty cool. Then in the second inning, Tyler made an awesome throw from third base all the way to first base and ended up hitting the running on the helmet as he stepped on the bag. It was pretty funny! and just goes to show you why you wear helmets during the game.

Ending the game early worked out well since I had to get Tay, Ty and Connor to the high school for select soccer tryouts. We were able to go home and get changed without having to rush around like chickens with out heads cut off.

After I dropped the boys off, I decided to walk across the field to where my parents were participating in the Relay for Life. I chatted with them for about an hour before it got too hot for me and I had to leave...ended up back there an hour later when I came back to pick the boys up from tryouts. They enjoyed having a short chat with their grandparents. The relay ended up getting cut short at about 11pm due to some pretty nasty storms that came through the area.

The good news from the soccer tryouts is that Connor got picked up by one of the teams. It's a team that he had actually practiced with a little last fall and the coach has decided to officially pick him up for the coming season. That's great news except it means we have to travel to Centreville for practices every Wednesday night. Maybe my parents will feed me dinner since they only live a few miles down the road from where they will be practicing.

We finally made it back home and jumped in the pool just in time for it to start lightening. Grr! That's the only sure way to get the kids out of the pool fast...usually you have to forceably drag them out. I did have a little time with Keari in the pool before the lightening started and she loved it. I think she's going to be another little fish.

Today, most everyone except me, Alex and Keari, went kayaking on the river....even some neighbor kids came along. From what I hear, everyone had a great time kayaking and swimming. They all came back and jumped in the pool for awhile.

I felt kind of bad for Alex...he spent the entire weekend studying for his finals which start tomorrow. He had to write two essays and a timeline for history which took him forever to do, the it was on to Biology. Those will be over with tomorrow, then it will be gym (which is a paper that he's already done) and Religion on Tuesday, Spanish and English on Wednesday and Math on Thursday. Hopefully Thursday will be a nice day because his class is getting together for an end of year party after the last exam.

Tournament

Kenzie has her first softball tournament of the year today. Will be interesting to see how well the girls play together. They did great at the Halloween tournament last year and they've been practicing a ton since then so hopefully everything still clicks together. They play 3 games this morning...should be done around 2. Andy took her, Tay, Ty and Connor so I'm left with a fairly easy day here at home. ;-) Have nothing planned...don't feel like cleaning so I might actually pull out my stitching once I get the baby down for a nap. We'll see how that goes.

Update: They won their first game 2 - 1 and were winning their second game 1 - 0. I haven't heard how it end yet and I'm going to have to have a talk with Andy about that...he's been terrible with updates today!

Update2: Just got a call from Kenzie saying that they won all 3 of their games today. Way to go Lakeshore Lightning U10 Girls!!

Busy Weekend

Between piano recitals, softball and not sleeping well, I'm exhausted right now. And I didn't even do the piano recital running around. Connor, Kenzie and Taylor had a winter themed piano recital in Bowie yesterday. Unfortunately Tay's teacher forgot to give him a piece to play for the recital so he didn't get to play. Talk about being bummed...and to make matters worse, he had to sit through all the other performances. Poor guy! Kenzie played well and made one mistake...he played his scale up one too many times and was going to run out of keys so had to restart that section. LOL

Kenzie had a 3 hr softball practice yesterday afternoon and a 4 hr practice this morning. Both times, I dropped her off and then went Christmas shopping. I don't know what was going on at Best Buy today but that place was packed. There is no way I would have stood in a line to check out that wrapped around the inside of the building. Crazy! I was able to get most of our Christmas shopping done this weekend...not that there was a lot to do since we bought our big family gift of the kayaks back in the summer. Hopefully the kids won't be disappointed come Christmas morning when there is only 1-2 gifts for each of them under the tree.

Champions!!

They won! They won! Kenzie called me after the game to tell me that she made the winning run...apparently there is a 15 run slaughter rule in the Championship game and Kenzie's run was that 15th run. I'm so thrilled for her, especially since she had struck out twice during the semi finals game, to have her, in the Championship game, rip a ball through the infield that 3 players missed...and score the game ending run. How exciting for her! Yay Lightning!!

35 - 3

That is the total of the runs scored during the first three games of the Halloween softball tournament that Kenzie is playing in. And, unlike last year, her team had the 35 runs. Woohoo!! The kids played awesome! And I was so proud of Kenzie...her first time up to bat she smacks it to center field for a basehit. In addition to that, she had a walk, a perfect bunt, a strike out and a complete flub up that started with a dropped third strike and ended up with her on first on a run scoring. It was crazy! They are top cede so they skip right to the semi finals tomorrow.

A Break

but not a good one. Kenzie has another broken collar bone. Near as we can figure she did this during her softball tournament on 5/19. She was playing first base and was run into by a base runner. She commented that her arm hurt a little but she continued to play that game and then 2 others that day plus one on Sunday. I'm not sure what triggered it but Monday night she said she was in alot of pain and couldn't sleep...not that she let us know that. When I got home yesterday from work, she was talking about it hurting and when I felt her collarbone she has a definite knot there. I ended up taking her in last night to the urgent center to get xrayed where a very condenscending dr waited on us. He basically he thought we were nuts when we said we thought this happened over a week ago and then when he asked her if she could raise her arm above her head and she could, he said that basically eliminated the possibility of her collarbone being broke but that they would xray it if we really wanted them to. Ugh!! Just because she can move her arm doesn't mean that it's not broken. Turns out it's been so long since it was broken that it had started to heal. Kenzie's really upset cause this means means she's going to miss at least the next 3 tournaments and possibly the final one as well.

1 Tie and 3 Losses

That is the result of this weekends softball tournament in Westminster. The first game they played ended in a tie which is great. I think this is the first time the girls have gotten that close to winning a game this season. The second game they lost but game back from a huge deficit to get within 5 runs. I think that's awesome because it shows that the girls didn't give up even when they were so far down. Unfortunately the 3rd game and the Sunday game were both slaughters...poor girls. The are an extremely young team and they make improvement every week so one of these days they will have their first win. Hopefully it will be sometime soon.

The Craziness Begins

Okay, well I guess some would laugh at that title and say that our craziness began a long time ago. LOL The current craziness is due to Andy taking his annual trip with his dad. He left last night and they are currently winging their way to Las Vegas as I type. Among other things, they will be visiting the grand canyon and hoping to do the donkey down the canyon. How cool! and I'm quite jealous about it. But I'm looking forward to being off work for a week...with as crazy as things have been there, I definitely need the break.

So far I'm on schedule this morning. I've gotten two kids off to their respective games, albeit by other sources but hey, at least they are getting there. Kenzie is on her way to Westminster for her softball tournament. She has three games to play today and then the coach wants to take them out to dinner afterwards. How nice is that? Then they at least one more game tomorrow in Westminster. Depending on whether they win that first game determines whether they play others tomorrow. Alex has a 9am game, Connor and the twins have 11:30 games. Of course, Connor and the twins games are at two different parks. Nothing is ever simple. Then the boys have to serve at 7pm mass tonight. Pray that the kiddos behave themselves tonight.

At least I don't need to worry about a piano recital in the midst of all the games today. They were originally supposed to play today at the National Guild Auditions but their teacher got the weekends mixed up...it's actually next weekend...so good for me. =)

Crazy, Crazy Day

Yesterday started out with me going to Easton for Kenzie's softball practice with Kenzie, Bekah and Kearsyn and Andy heading toward the fields with the rest of the kids for opening day parade and then games. I left a little early so we could run by the store there to return something. We spent two+ hrs there then returned to one of the fields on the island where the twins were playing their first coach pitch game. Andy came from Connor's game at another field, I dropped Bekah and Kearsyn with him, then took Kenzie over to Connor's field so we could grab him as soon as he was done so we could head to Chestertown for a choir concert. Oh yeah, and we did try to grab something to eat in there but it wasn't easy. Since we had to be at the concert an hour early so they could practice, I took the opportunity to walk down to the river and sat there enjoying the beautiful weather, watching the ducks and the boats on the water and reading a book for a little while. After the concert, we quickly grabbed something for dinner before returning home to change and heading back out the door to church...where both Connor and Alex had alter service duty last night.

Alex got to ride in the fire truck during the parade yesterday, then attended a search and rescue training for the fire fighters where he helped set up the training. Unfortunately part way through the exercise, they got a call and all had to leave. Worked out okay for Alex though cause that meant he was able to get to the start of his baseball game on time.

Today my parents, sister and bil came over to finish celebrating Connor's birthday. It's a beautiful day and they spent a good portion of it outside throwing the ball around. We had to cut short the fun though as Connor and Kenzie have one last choir concert today which Connor was totally bummed about. He would have much rather stayed here to play.

After this weekend, I think I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow for a relaxing day but I know tomorrow evening is going to be crazy. Both Alex and Connor have baseball games and Kenzie has to be back in Easton for practice. It just never slows down...but I know when these guys are out of the house, I'll be missing all the activity.

Another Crazy Day

They switched Kenzie's softball practice from Thursday to tonight which throws everything out of whack. Thursday we don't have anything going on other than her practice. Mondays we have Alex's youth group and we also found out that they do clean up work at the firehouse on Mondays so Andy dropped him off at the firehouse when he left to take Kenzie to practice. I just picked him to take him to youth group and then have to go back out at 8:30 to pick him up as Andy and Kenzie won't be home in. Also, because Connor went with Andy tonight that means that I will have to pack up the twins, Bekah and Kearsyn when I go to get Alex. I sure hope they don't try to make this a permanent switch. One night of messing up the bed time routine is okay but I wouldn't want to do it more than that. And thankfully because of all the rain we've had, baseball practice for Alex and Connor was cancelled otherwise the night would have been even crazier.

Andy has put us in a real pickle. ;-) After Alex had his interview with SPPS, Andy and Connor were talking and Andy said that we would also try to get Connor into the school hopefully by the time he was in the 8th grade. Andy has recently been emailing with the principle of the elementary school to see how we would go about getting Connor (and Kenzie) onto the waiting list for the school. There's always a waiting list for the elementary school so we figured if we got them on now that they would be in a good position when it came time for them to each enter 8th grade. Turns out, because Alex is enrolled in the high schools, that moves Connor and Kenzie way to the top of the list...there are only two other kids ahead of them. Ack! While that's good it's also bad because we haven't figured out how we are going to pay for Alex to go there, let alone anyone else. I know everything will work out however it's supposed to...just have to have a little faith.

Long overdue update

Things have just been crazy here lately. It's been a rough year but we've made some changes and I'm hoping things are starting to smooth out some.

Here's a quick up date on what's been going on (or not so quick now that I see how much I've written. Yikes!):

Alex got accepted into the Catholic High School that he applied to...I think I told you guys that he was applying. He has to take a 3hr placement test next Wednesday and then has to take a math placement test sometime in May. We still have to figure out to pay for this but we did apply for financial through the diocese and the school so hopefully we'll get something from either one or both of them. Alex has also become a jr volunteer firefighter. We haven't quite worked out what all that entails but he's gone to a few meetings and he's allowed to do some of the training sessions. Since baseball season has started back up again, that of course means that Alex's ankle is hurting him again. Happens everytime he plays a sport. We took him to his pediatrician the other day who has referred us to a specialist He thinks he has an issue with a ligament in his ankle. He has an appt to get it looked at next Thursday. Alex's confirmation is coming up on May 3. My sister is his sponsor which has been nice because she's been over once a month to go parent/sponsor days with him.

Connor and Kenzie had their big choir festival in Frederick in February. This is where 4 choirs from around the state get together for the day to practice then give a combined concert that night. It's awesome! They've also done a couple of piano recitals (along with Tyler) with another one coming up next month.

Kenzie has her first softball tournamment of the year this weekend. Our course the games tomorrow will most likely get rained out with this nasty storm that is heading our way...Andy called a little while ago to say the it was already raining where they are. So far they've played two games today with on more to go. Unfortunately they've lost both games so far.

Bekah is doing great. She's still doing speech therapy twice a month and she is now talking up a storm. She's babbles so much now that it makes me wonder why we were so anxious to get her talk...it was kind of nice to have her quiet. LOL Actually, it makes communicating so much easier with her now. And it's funny because as soon as she started talking she stopped using the majority of the sign language that we had taught here. Guess she figured that she didn't need it anymore since she now can say the words. There are still a few signs she uses but not many.

Kearsyn is now 6 months old...wow where has that time gone?? She had her check up last week and now weighs 16lbs 3oz and is 25in long. She can sit on her own and thinks she is such a big girl in doing so. LOL No interest in rolling over yet. And she still hardly eats anything. I still have milk in the freezer that I pumped back in November...makes me wonder why I'm still pumping as we seem to have plenty in reserve. LOL I think she is trying to cut some teeth as she is constantly chomping on something...she is particularly fond of your shoulder and chin. She also likes to try and shove her entire fist in her mouth. Silly girl!

Andy is getting ready to go on his annual vacation with his dad. They are going to the Grand Canyon this year and are leaving May 4 or maybe it's the 5th. I can't remember as it had to get changed because of Alex's confirmation. This means I'll get to spend the week at home with the kids. Wonder what trouble we can find to get into. ;-)

Things at work are finally starting to settle down. I think we've finally gotten out of the mode of putting out fires everyday and can focus on the work we are supposed to be doing. It's been a tough year so far with getting the news of my bosses cancer...latest report is that the radiation and chemo have not been able to shrink the tumor at all so they are looking for a new drug to try him on. I also found that another friend I used to work with has had is cancer come back and has metastized to other areas. He's now diagnosed at stage 4 which totally depresses me. On the good news front, my sister is going to have a baby. Her due date is Halloween whch would 5 members of our family with October birthdays if the baby comes then.

I'm sure there is more but that's all I can think of for now. I'll try to see if I can get a few pictures up so you can see how much the little ones have grown.

Ski Trip

Alex left last night for his very first over night event with his youth group. They are going to spend the day skiing, snowboarding or tubing...whichever activity they chose...at Roundtop today. Alex chose to try skiing. They left last night, spent the night with their sleeping bags in a church up there and then were hitting the slopes early this morning. The camping in the church was good because it saved on expenses...they got to sleep at the church for free so only had to provide money for food last night and for the activity today. I'm anxious to hear how he did as this will be his first skiing attempt. I'm sure he's having a blast right about now. =)

Andy and Kenzie are down in Trappe for her Saturday softball practice. She's discovered that she loves to pitch the softball so we'll see how much of that they are doing today. I logged onto work for a little bit to get some programs started that take about 5 hrs each to run. Thought I'd try getting a jump on things so I'm not waiting around Monday morning for the data. I'm already running about a week behind getting this particular data updated so hopefully this will help me catch up a little. Now I'm off to try and clean the house a little.

Hope all is well with everyone out there and hopefully it won't be another 2 weeks before I'm able to get back here again. ;)

Busy Day

Andy took Alex to the Gunston Open House. Alex really liked it...they both said the place was beautiful. Too bad it costs $18,000 to go there for a year. Yikes! I don't see that happening but we are going to go ahead and fill out the financial aid form just to see what we might get. Can't hurt any.

Bekah had her speech evaluation appt today. I was very impressed with how the ladies did the evaluation. They even taught Bekah how to sign "more" which she still remembers. That's so amazing to me that she can be shown the sign a couple of times and she is still retaining it. Makes me want to learn more signs that can be taught to her. They were totally impressed with her motor skills...she's actually doing a number of things above age level. She is delayed in her speech area so she does qualify for the program. The next steps are for them to write up their report to figure out exactly where she falls, then we'll get together to discuss the findings. During that meeting, we'll decide on how best to proceed with getting her additional speech help. The good news is...actually there are two...1) it's free and 2) they'll come to the house to everything so that will make things easier on us.

Kenzie's softball practices have started back up again. They are only optional at this point but do you think my girl would miss any kind of practice?? No way! LOL So Andy and she made the trek to Trappe to the indoor facility for the practice tonight.

Connor is impatiently waiting for the Ravens game to start. This child loves football!

I've seen so many beautiful pictures of sunrises and sunsets lately...Velda's and Andy's...I thought I would post one that I took tonight as I went out to turn on our outside Christmas lights. I realize now after looking at the picture that I should have walked out farther on the deck so our rain spout and satellite wires weren't in it. Oops! LOL

Same Stuff, Different Day

Kenzie has another early softball game today and the other kiddos have early CCD classes so that means another early morning for me. Ugh! Thankfully Andy was able to drop the kids off at their classes as he was leaving to take Kenzie to her game so at least I didn't have to have Kearsyn and Bekah ready and out of the house quite so early. That bought me about an hour so I was actually able to take a shower...something that has turned into a novelty these days. LOL Alex's class ends a half hour later than everyone elses so we ate some donuts and talked while waiting for him. Everyone had to come look at Kearsyn. They all commented on how much she looks like everyone else. There's definitely no denying that she is related to the other kids. LOL Not planning on doing much at all today other than some laundry as it seems to have multiplied here lately. Then I'm sure Connor will be watching football games this afternoon so I'll probably watch some with him. Not sure when Kenzie and Andy will be home...depends on whether her team wins or not...if they win, they keep playing...if they lose, they come home. I think they have the potential to play three games today if they win them all although the chances of that happening are pretty slim. But at least she's having fun.

Update on Kenzie's first game - they ended up losing...and by the slaughter rule, poor things...so no more games today. I'm sure Andy will give more details when he gets back. For now, he's off to take Kenzie around Salisbury and show her the places we used to hang out at while we went to college there...like the Salisbury Zoo and the city park (adjacent to the zoo).

So Far, So Good

After an extremely sleepless night thanks to my newest daughter (luv ya sweetie!!), I was actually able to get Alex, the twins, Bekah and Kearsyn all over to the park by 7:45 so Alex made it to his game on time. Yay! After dropping Alex off, I then came home so Bekah could eat breakfast and to feed Kearsyn before having to head back to the field for the twins 11am game. Things were going well until I get a frantic phone call from Alex at 9:30 saying that I needed to bring his stopwatch and whistle over to the field so he could ref his game. Grr! Now you tell me why a child that knows he's going to be ref'ing games all day couldn't remember to stick those two important items in his backpack when we left this morning. So that meant I had to pack everybody back into the van and head back to the park...luckily it's only a 10 minute drive but it's still a pita to have to load everyone in, just to come home again, unload then and then load them back up less than an hour later to head back to the field. Oh well, what are you gonna do? Even after making the unexpected extra trip, I still managed to get the twins to their game on time...then Bekah, Kearsyn and I hung out for the hour that they played. It's a beautiful day but a little chilly so I kept Kearsyn in the van while Bekah ran back and forth between the van and the volleyball courts (located right next to the field that the twins were playing on). We're back home and now I'm waiting for Kearsyn to wake up so I can feed her...hope she gets up soon cause it's starting to get a bit painful...and waiting for Alex to call to say he's done ref'ing for the day. With my luck he'll call when I'm in the middle of feeding Kearsyn. Well, turns out I was close...I was just getting ready to wake Kearsyn up to feed her when Alex called to say he was done.

Kenzie, Connor and Andy are in Salisbury now and Kenzie's second game should be starting right about now. They didn't do so well in their first game but they are a young team so it'll take some time. Final outcome of the games is 2 losses, 1 win. I haven't heard all the details yet but Kenzie did let me know that she stole home in the third game. Yay!

I've done a bit of stitching over the last couple of days. I'm currently working on PS Winter Seasons although it's not holding much appeal for me at the moment. I might switch to something else although after looking over my other wip's nothing is catching my attention right now so I guess I'll just stick with the PS one until Holly's mini rr arrives. That one should be a quick a stitch...the theme is superheros...and then it will be on it's way home. What a quick rr this one was. And for all you enablers reading out there...I'm not starting any new projects at the moment so don't even try to talk me in to one. LOL

A Change in Plans

Due to all the rain we've had last night and today everything scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed...no soccer games, no soccer pictures and no softball tournament. So we all get to stay at home and just relax. My inlaws will be coming over since they haven't seen Bekah for her birthday yet. I'm hoping to get some sleep tonight so I won't be quite as grumpy tomorrow...was up pretty much around the clock last night and that makes for a very long night and a long day.
